EXP Podcast #83: E3 2010 Restrospective

This year's Electronic Entertainment Expo has come and gone, leaving in its wake rumors, exciting announcements, technical innovations, and underpaid "booth babes." I was fortunate enough to attend the three day event, getting to see some unreleased creations a few months early and bask in corporate self-aggrandizement. This week on the podcast, Scott and I discuss the ins-and-outs of E3, from motion controls and 3D technology, to Zelda and SOCOM 4. Let us know your thoughts in on all the E3 announcements in the comments section below.

Ed. note: I know, Twilight Princess is a Zelda game on the Wii. Also, 3DS ships March 2011, not this fall. Sorry to get your hopes up.

  1. Hey dudes, it's Eddie Inzauto from GamerNode. I wanted to comment on the Zelda graphics style. I spoke to a member of the dev team and he said that because the graphics are often the last to be finalized in these games, the current, sort of semi-Wind-Waker look is just a placeholder style, and will be fully fleshed out to actually look good before release. Because yeah, it looked kinda worthless. The trailer made it look rad, but the game itself, not so much.

  2. Hey Eddie,

Thanks for the inside info. I'll be interested to see how much it changes by the time it is released.

After watching a few more videos, the look does not worry me as much as the gameplay. I was hoping for a more radical change to the Zelda formula, but I don't know if that's going to happen...
